LA CLARA - 38 drawings

From architect’s plans dating the 80s found in the factory, called La Clara, in the north of France, Gabriel Folli draws buildings in ruins. At the idea of the construction led by the plans on which he draws with charcoal, black stone and sometimes pastel, Gabriel brings into conflict that of the demolition with many themes : conflict in Syria, ruins of Palmyra, deindustrialisation of Detroit, unemployment, demolition of buildings in the difficult districts of France, civil conflict…He shows that the man makes and undoes, and that the images which he produces keep a memory of these contradictory states, although theses images can also themselves change sense in time, of context and interpretation.
